On Friday, June 19, Jon Francis, conservative republican candidate for State Representative, Texas House District 60, released the following statement:
“Today it was revealed two staffers at Empower Texans had used profane and disparaging comments towards Governor Abbott. Their remarks were absolutely unacceptable. The comments in no way reflect my values and convictions.
Unlike my opponent, I have no problem holding those around me accountable, even if it means calling out friends and supporters who do wrong. Time and time again my opponent has ignored the reprehensible behavior, lies and liberal positions of his supporters and the lobbyists bankrolling his campaign. He is already bought and paid for.
I stand by my own convictions, not that of others. My position on the important issues at hand will be clear to my constituents and entirely my own. This is what sets me apart from Glenn Rogers.
Our state deserves truth tellers, and straight shooters. House District 60 can count on me to be just that.”
